As we reported, Whoopi Goldberg was left out of the Oscar Telecast which her and her View co-hosts said was just plain wrong. Then we reported the Oscars issued an apology, and now Whoopi says On The View the following: ""Gil Cates called me yesterday," Goldberg said on the ABC daytime show. "He made an oversight, pure and simple."
Mission accomplished, Goldberg confirmed, quoting Cates as telling her on the phone, "You know I love you ... It was a mistake, and I'm sorry I didn't catch it."
Added Goldberg: "I know him as a great gentleman," and she said that they have both moved on.
We Say, it was still shitty of them to forget her, considering all of the barriers she broke when she NOT only won an Oscar, but also hosted. Hopefully next year, they dont fuck up as much.
