Bret Easton Ellis, author of American Psycho, Less Then Zero and The Rules of Attraction has been tapped to write the movie adaptation of Michael Hornburg's novel Downers Grove. According to EW.com the book "is about a high school senior from the Chicago suburb Downers Grove who is paranoid about a ''curse'' at her school that causes someone in the graduating class to die in a bizarre way before the year's end. Mangrove Entertainment is financing; Jason Dubin and Oren Segal are producing. Ellis, who also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming The Frog King, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, has his sixth novel, Lunar Park, in development as a feature with Palm Star Pictures. His novel The Informers, which has been turned into a movie starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, and Brandon Routh, just finished production." We say, we can't wait for the movie and def. want to read the book.
